The Yoga-Ayurveda tradition understands that everything contains prana. We nurture our body mind and soulwith food as a source of this life force. Itdirectly affects our personality and our interactions with other people and the environment. Therefore natural and pure food generatesholistic health and vitality-not just physically, but also mentally and spiritually.
At Yoga Samskriti School we serve pure vegetarian food that is cooked applying the principles of Ayurveda. We only use seasonal ingredients produced by local farmerswho grow their products with love and in harmony with nature. The food is highly nutritious – based on organically grown whole grains, immense variety of fresh, seasonal vegetables, lentils, legumes, fruits and dairy products. The famed Indian spices and condiments that we use in our cooking have tremendous medicinal value, apart from making the food flavorful and tasty. We use rich and healthy oils like sunflower oil, soybeans oil, peanut oil and pure Indian ghee which apart from making you strong from within, makes your skin glow with internal lubrication
Most of our recipes are traditional following the five elements cooking which supports a strong body and a healthy and calm mind preparing for meditation. We also serve herbal tea in the afternoon which is enriched with a composition of traditional immune boosting Indian spices.
Depending on the location of our training we serve regional food. North Indian food at the Rishikeshschool, South Indian for the Kerala location and Nepali food for Nepal trainings.
Throughout the day our students are provided with purified filtered water, so it is recommended to bring a refill bottle in order to use our resources sustainably.
We abide by the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness in our kitchen.
Please do inform us beforehand about any food allergies or preferences. On these personal requests of the students we will provide vegan or gluten free food on prior demands.
